The Translation Services provide all translations required by the meetings, as well as language support to editorial committees with text processing and editorial support, ensuring that deadlines are consistently met during all the stages of document production and in accordance with United Nations standards of productivity, quality and efficiency.
In the three working languages of the Organization (English, French and Spanish), Translation Services ensure the timely translation and text processing of all IMO meeting documents, whether pre-session, in-session or post-session.
The Arabic, Chinese and Russian Translation Sections have provided translation, text processing and documentation services as required for these official languages, including translation and editing of Assembly resolutions, Council Summary of Decisions, committees? reports and other documents, as well as several IMO publications, such as IMO instruments

Languages
The six official languages at IMO are Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish. The reports of Committees, Assembly resolutions and Council decisions are translated into all six languages. IMO follows the UN guidelines on gender-neutral language. These guidelines are available in all six languages.
